A Nice Idea! HACKxTACK

(source: hackxtack)

I can't remember how many times I've said: "Now where did I put that blasted lens cap?!" Enter HACKxTACK. This kickstarter project tries to solve an age-old problem of photographers misplacing their lens caps amidst the excitement of shooting.

Another age-old solution to this problem is to tie your lens cap to a string like this:

But this doesn't appeal as much to me as the HACKxTACK.

If like me, you like their idea, consider supporting their kickstarter project here.

P.S.: this also makes a great gift for a friend or for that special photographer in your life.

Steel Horses

April 9, 2014

There are some great art works displayed at the Glorietta Park in front of the Glorietta 4 entrance. These are steel scupltures of horses skillfully made by Ann Tiukinhoy Pamintuan.

When I passed by I can't help but bring my camera out and start taking pictures these great displays. I felt that I wasn't the only one who felt the urge to do so because every now and then there are several people walking into the park and taking pictures as well.

I chose to convert my photographs to black and white because I feel that it gives more emphasis on the sculptures and makes the somewhat colorful background less distracting.

I believe the Glorietta Mall Management is doing a great job at promoting great art by putting the displays there. I wish more malls would follow as well.

The Japanese raccoon dog , also known as tanuki (狸 or たぬき?) in Japanese.

"As the tanuki, the animal has been significant in Japanese folklore since ancient times. The legendary tanuki is reputed to be mischievous and jolly, a master of disguise and shapeshifting, but somewhat gullible and absentminded."
